A few Mishaps and some Miracles

Even though I have not posted regularly that doesn't mean I have not taken photos. Instead of letting them collect virtual dust. I decided to do one major post of outfits that I have worn, but, sadly, was too lazy to post. There are also a few outfits that just did not look good on camera. I love my orange dress, but it does not love me. My hair was really off that day as well. Oh well, I'll try again. I'm done with that lazy chick behavior. I will be back soon with my fashion show outfits. Right now I'm trippin because the warm weather is almost here and I have not worn any of my coats. F#%$ it, I'm wearing at least one before I pack them up. I'll be back soon. I hope you enjoy.

P.S. Terri, I love fantasy, history, and non-fiction that makes me cry. I read about 2 books a week. I just started The girl with the dragon tattoo and I'm hooked. Before that I read Clive Barker's, the great and secret show. I read comics every week and drool over costume books that are too heavy and expensive to carry home. I consider myself a Tudor England historian even though I don't the degree to prove it. I will read pretty much anything as long as it's interesting.

Working It: A perfection of striped confection

Happy holidays. Yes, I know that I'm late, but can we just pretend that it's still Christmas Eve? I have spent the past month with my head either in a book or a box. The book store had their annual sale and I couldn't resist reading the books that I bought. I have also packed up and donated clothing that I have not worn. And I just come back from snow fest in Hokkaido, but I'm back and here is my beautiful candy cane dress that's way overdue!

Anyhoo, fashion week has just started and I'm a bit jealous that I'm not attending. Not particularly over the clothes. I think its just criminal to parade clothing in front of me that costs a year's worth of rent. It is also criminal when it's a basic and the quality is lackluster. If it costs 800 dollars I want something with bangs, whistles, and flashing lights.

I'm jealous because I want to prance around in over the top outfits for a week too, not that I've really seen anything that eye catching. It just seems to be an endless variation of folks wearing designer, Zara, Topshop, and Jefferey Campbell. I don't have a problem with these shops or people. But for the love of Bob would it hurt to be a bit more original people? It's the one week where anything goes.

I will just say that I am somewhat disappointed. So disappointed that I have decided to wake up from my bum slump that I've been in since the beginning of the year and get dressed in my REGULAR CLOTHES, not my work clothes. This sleeping dragon is awake and ready to roar. For the next 7 posts I will give you outfits that I deem worthy of fashion week.

Dress: Vintage Maxan, my new hobby is tracking these beauties down
Pumps: Pleaser
Coat: Vintage opera coat.

P.S. I am so very behind on posting, but my resolution this year is to let my actions speak louder than my words.

Working It: Golden Gloom

I'm a little ticked off today because customs confiscated my sausage. My delicious Summer Sausage that makes my mouth water whenever I think about it. I'm hosting a party this weekend and I ordered some treats from overseas, but it looks like sausage is off the menu. I should have looked at the customs regulations before I sent it. Anyway, life goes on and I can't wait to show you my candy cane dress. It is just beyond words, you just have to see it. I'm really behind on posting at the moment. I have loads of photos to look through. I don't really edit my photos. I just take so many that it's hard to choose a decent one. However, my holiday outfits are getting bumped to the top of the list. Any reason for me to get all dressed up is great.

OK, now on to my outfit. It's finally cool enough to wear my Aladdin jacket. Looking at it makes me so happy. It's a combination of some of my favorite things; gold, green, metallic, brocade, and glitter. I found it on Etsy and it was described as a kimono. There's nothing kimono like about it at all! My pet peeve is when someone claims that something is kimono like, but it's anything but. I'm extremely anal at times when it comes to categorizing clothing. I've found way too many things I like only to find out that they're really Barbie outfits. I wish they made them in my size. Please stop putting Barbie clothes in the clothing section! They're toys dammit, TOYS!!! By the way I'm having a sale so check out the shop

Jacket: Vintage
Dress: Zara
Shoes: Pleaser.

P.S. Barbie clothes are TOYS!!!

Working It: The Floral Matrix

The weather here continues to be indecisive. It doesn't know if it wants to be Summer, Fall, or Winter. It's a bit of a challenge dressing for dysfunctional weather. Sometimes I wear a jacket or a sweater or even a stole. The day that I wore this get-up we had spring temps. I took this as a sign to pull out my favorite jumpsuit and this outrageous reversible vest. I will be wearing again soon. I've already thought of 5 different outfits for it. It's 4 in the morning here so I'm not very cohesive at the moment. Please forgive me if I sound strange, but I figure that I should post and NOT SLACK OFF! I will return soon in a less sleepy state of mind. The next post will feature my Aladdin jacket. I figure I have to go all out this month for being so lazy and sloppy these past few months. Thank you for you patience and stopping by.

Jumpsuit: Vintage
Vest: Vintage

P.S. I forgot to mention my new belt Leo, isn't he gorgeous? Ok, it's time for bed now.
